This unique bed was designed and made in 1995 as a special Valentines gift by a team of master craftsmen from the South West of England.
After initial inspiration from Mediaeval torture chambers, the idea evolved into a more sexual conotation and eventually appeared in the national press and specialist publications. The incredible life-like hands and arms were carved in English Oak by the celebrated Fairground woodcarver Woody White , who's carousel horses are revered the world over. The late Arthur Henson was one of the most talented Artist-Blacksmiths this country had ever seen and he hand forged the beautiful, intricate, chased metalwork supports and manacles. Hullin and Hudson from Bath turned the spikes and mace balls that sit on the four oak corner posts. And finally, all these wonderful pieces were assembled and jointed together by the Designers / Makers Richard Ford and Mark Kissane. My partner and I have enjoyed a decade of fun and frolics, but the time has now come for us to move on and allow others to experience this truly magical bed and fulfill their wildest dreams and desires.
